Couples Retreat · Hocking Hills, Ohio
Two nights. Just the two of you.
A couples retreat in your own cabin, with the Day Dream journals: a loose shape for the weekend, pages to write alone, a walk with questions, the sauna, and a long night by the fire.
See the priceWhat it is
You didn’t come because something is wrong.

You came because things are good, and life has gotten full, and somewhere along the way most of your conversations started being about logistics. Who’s picking up whom. What’s for dinner. When the bill is due.
This weekend is for the other conversations. The ones about what you want. The ones that start with “what if.”
We made Day Dream because we needed it. Our own conversations had drifted into logistics, so we wrote a loose shape for two nights away, took it to one of our cabins in October, and were the guinea pigs.
We’re not couples experts or therapists, just two people who found this helpful. Each of you gets your own printed journal, waiting on the table when you arrive. There’s no schedule and nobody checking on you. Use what helps. Skip what doesn’t. If you only rest, you did it right.

You leave with
A shared dream
Five and ten years out, drawn together by the fire, and one step toward it.
How it runs
Rest, then wander, then dream out loud.
Night one
Arrive
You made it. That's the whole job tonight.
- Phones in the basket by the door
- Sauna, cold plunge, then the hot tub
- A simple dinner, nothing ambitious
- No questions tonight. That's on purpose.
Day two
Alone. Together. Play.
Morning apart, midday together, an afternoon of hot and cold.
- Your own pages, written alone: the season you're leaving and the one that's opening
- A walk with questions: remember when, then what if
- Hot and cold, with a few dares for the sauna
Night two
The fire
The heart of the weekend. About two hours, blankets, both journals, and something to toast with.
- Read your pages to each other. The listener only says “tell me more.”
- Build your shared Day Dream on the map, five years out and ten
- Pick the One Thing: a step in the next month, six months or year toward your five-year dream
Morning three
Carry it home
One page, one date, one ritual.
- The One Thing goes on both calendars, with a date
- Choose your ritual: something you do together, on repeat, to keep the time and the dream going
- A letter to each other, sealed, to open in a year

The rules
Five rules for the weekend.
They’re on page three of your journal. There aren’t any others.
- 1
Rest comes first.
Night one has no questions in it. That's on purpose.
- 2
Nothing here is required.
Every page is an offer, not an assignment.
- 3
Phones go in the basket.
One check in the morning, one at night, if you must.
- 4
Write before you share.
When a page asks you to write alone, finish before you talk. It keeps your own dream yours.
- 5
“What if” beats “how.”
This weekend is for dreaming. The how comes later.

Questions
Good to know.
- What do we do before we arrive?
- Nothing. Both journals will be waiting on the table when you arrive. If you have an old photo of the two of you, bring it. There's a page for it.
- How far ahead do we need to book?
- Two days is enough. The journals are printed and bound by Otto Printing in Newport, Kentucky, and we keep them on hand, so we just need time to set them out in your cabin.
- Which cabin should we book?
- Any of the four. Each has its own sauna, cold plunge, hot tub, and fire pit. Weeknights are quieter and cost less.
- Is this couples therapy?
- No, and we're not therapists. It's what helped us, for couples whose things are good and whose lives have gotten full. If something is hard right now, a counselor is the right first call.
